What is Fiber Optic Broadband Internet Connection (FTTX – FTTH / FTTP)

Fiber Optic Broadband Internet Connection (FTTX) is a type of broadband technology that uses fiber optic cables to deliver high-speed Internet to homes and businesses. FTTX stands for “Fiber to the x”, where “x” can refer to various points in a network, such as the home (FTTH), the premises (FTTP), or the curb (FTTC).

FTTH (Fiber to the Home) is a type of FTTX that provides fiber optic connections directly to individual homes. This provides the highest possible speeds and the most reliable connection, making it ideal for households that require high-speed Internet for activities such as streaming high-definition video, online gaming, and telecommuting.

FTTP (Fiber to the Premises) is a similar concept to FTTH, but it refers to fiber optic connections being installed directly to business premises, rather than homes. This is particularly useful for businesses that require high-speed Internet for large data transfers, video conferencing, and other bandwidth-intensive applications.

FTTC (Fiber to the Curb) is a type of FTTX that provides fiber optic connections to the nearest curb or street cabinet, rather than all the way to the home or business. From the curb, the connection is then transmitted over traditional copper or coaxial cables to the premises. This is a less expensive alternative to FTTH or FTTP, but it typically provides slower speeds and is less reliable.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, Fiber Optic Broadband Internet Connection (FTTX) is a type of broadband technology that uses fiber optic cables to deliver high-speed Internet to homes and businesses. FTTH and FTTP provide fiber optic connections directly to individual homes and businesses, while FTTC provides fiber optic connections to the nearest curb or street cabinet.

    What is WiFi?
WiFi (Wireless Fidelity) is a wireless networking technology that connects computers (laptops and desktops), mobile devices (smartphones and wearables), and other equipment (printers and video cameras) to the Internet. It enables these devices, as well as many others, to communicate with one another, forming a network.

    What is LiFi?
LiFi is light-based bi-directional, fully networked, wireless communication technology where the light source is used to transmit the data wirelessly. This is achieved by turning LED ON and OFF very rapidly(Million times per second) so that the flicker is not observable by the human eye, and in this way, the data is transferred between the two devices wirelessly.
